Measure the maxinautes: Jaime
2022/12/19
How do you experience your role as project manager?
Jaime: "It's a learning job, I learn things every day. If I make a mistake or don't understand something once, I can always turn to someone for support. There is a very pleasant working atmosphere which made me feel at home very quickly."
How long have you been in this job?
Jaime: "I joined Maxicon in mid-September and have been linked to this project since then."
"Still, I had some doubts about outsourcing there. After a clear and convincing follow-up interview, I made the choice to sign with Maxicon. I certainly haven't regretted this, anything but."
- Jaime, Project Manager at Xellent
What is part of your job responsibilities?
Jaime: "I make the planning for the technicians and make sure all the equipment is ready and that it is clear to them what to do when they arrive on site. I also install all the metering systems and commission all the charging stations. If the customers experience any problems with the charging stations, I am the point of contact and try to solve them. "
What is the biggest challenge for you?
Jaime: "For me, the biggest challenge is making and fully understanding the technical diagrams. Since this is also my first project as a school leaver, it is a challenge to communicate everything correctly to the customers. I am also responsible for the dashboard of the charging stations, where I will set all the settings of the charging stations according to the customer's requirements."
What things from your background come in handy in your job?
Jaime: "I had no experience, only my studies gave me a big head start. Of course, we only learnt the basics at school. This allows me to pick up the thread smoothly but the necessary extra explanation can always come in handy."
What does your working day look like?
Jaime: "Because I have sliding hours, every day looks different. I drive an average of just under 1,000 km a week so I often find myself in the car. I usually leave for a site in the morning to carry out the necessary works. Then I drive on to the office and carry out the necessary administrative work. Usually by late afternoon I go to the next site such that after this I can leave straight home."
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Jaime: "The thing I like most about the job is the experience I gain, as well as the responsibility I am given. "
"I ended up in a very pleasant group atmosphere where I immediately felt at home. I received very good guidance, not only with the client but also from Maxicon"

HOW do you experience working through outsourcing?
Jaime: "When I discovered outsourcing, it was my preference, but I still had some doubts about it. After a clear and convincing follow-up interview, I made the choice to sign with Maxicon. I certainly haven't regretted this, anything but. There was always very clear communication regarding the projects. A representative always accompanied me when I visited the customer, in my case this was Bram. He made sure I was at ease during every conversation, which as a school leaver is certainly not obvious. He let me do the talking, but if I couldn't answer something or was struggling, he always jumped in. This made me feel very reassured."
"I ended up in a very pleasant group atmosphere, where I immediately felt at home. i have very good guidance, not only with the client but also from Maxicon. In case of any problems I can always turn to Laura who reassures me enormously and always provides a quick and correct solution. So for me, this is very pleasant work. If I get questions about this, I also always recommend to at least inquire at Maxicon anyway."
Is there a specific achievement you are proud of?
Jaime: "There is not really anything specific, however, I am proud of the progress I have already made across the board."
Where do you see yourself in five years' time?
Jaime: "I don't have an immediate place or position where I see myself in five years. For me, the focus is mainly on further developing myself and continuing to learn. My interest lies in renewable energy, which is not completely fulfilled by the charging stations, but I am learning enormously. I hope to do more projects in the future in which I can apply this interest though."
